It is with indescribable sorrow that the Irish Terrier Club of Northern California must announce the passing of Marilyn Shaw. Marilyn was a long time member of ITCA and ITCNC and a backbone of both clubs. Marilyn attended a grooming clinic at Diana Martin's home over 30 years ago with her first Irish Terrier, Rusty. After losing Rusty from cancer at a young age, she and her husband Peter bought Begorra Donegal Dennis from Diana. Donny was their first AKC Champion. Donny sired numerous champions himself, and the Donedaire dynasty was born when the Shaw’s purchased Champion Peg O' Myne of Gillmere from Peggy and Paul Gill. The rest is history. When the Shaw’s joined forces with Robert Milano, the sky was the limit with the Donedaires garnering many National AKC and ITCA Titles. Over the years, Marilyn served on the boards of ITCA and ITCNC, most recently as Treasurer of ITCNC. She also served as show chairman numerous times for ITCNC specialty shows.  Marilyn is survived by husband Peter, her brother John Schmitz and sister-in -law Natalie and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives in Missouri. All of us are better for having known her and her devotion to Irish terriers. She will be sorely missed.
